Propellant ionization

Discharge Chamber

The Discharge Chamber subteam designs the stage where argon becomes plasma. Electrons from the hollow cathode enter an aluminum chamber alongside the propellant, and rings of magnets keep them off the walls so each one makes more ionizing collisions.
